FUDforum 3 ships with a Quick Reply (QR) editor with full BBcode and smiley support built-in. To enable this feature (default is disabled), navigate to the Admin Control Panel -> Global Settings and set:

Global Settings Manager

Enable Quick Reply:
Enable/disable the forum's quick reply editor.

The Quick Reply Editor can be expanded or collapsed like forums and regular messages. To change the default display mode:

Global Settings Manager

Quick Reply Display Mode:
Quick reply display mode: collapsed or expanded.

While composing a quick reply, note the following:

* The editor can be expanded (+) or collapsed (-).
* The standard formatting toolbar can be used to insert BBcode tags.
* The editor has a grippie to resize the editor window.
* Click on "Preview message" to move over to the regular reply page.
* Click on "Submit reply" when done.

This feature could be useful, thanks for adding it.

Would it be possible to include a button to insert the quoted text from the initial message. And a global setting to enable this as the default would be even better!

So, if the thread has 1000 message, which one should be quoted?

As per the original post, this feature can be enabled or disabled globally in the Global Settings Manager.
