Kinda like vbulletin. And could you arange the cell colors in the subscriptions like in a forum? The forum could also use an email function: there is an email link under the post next to the 'PM' link, and if it is clicked, you are taken to a form that u use to email that user. The forum could use some new smilies too, because they are the smilies from phpbb, and sadly some peeps (I won't mention their names) in wbb community have dissed fud about it. I'll make the totaly unique but apropriate, and hopefully have them ready for you tomorrow or the day after Thanx.

I have an idea that would affect the handling of private forums. Currently u define the access with the group manager. So once a forum is restricted u still can see what it is about (because categories and "last post by" are shown). How about adding a simple private forum option which would once activated would show nothing more but the login prompt with the site's logo? I think this would be a useful feature, because even unexperienced users would soon get to a result. Besides, it's an good idea to make forums really private in the sense that no one has an idea what it is about. I could imagine this as an option u can choose in the Admin Control Panel when u set the properties of ur categories and forums. Another enhancement could be to extend the current ignore list to kind of a killfile. For instance u could not only filter login names but postings if they match to regular expressions u define. Makes sense if u want to ignore Anonymous troll postings. Maybe I have some more ideas later on. bye Ken

By making the forum hidden you will effectively hide the forum from view. Seeing the name of a forum or a last poster won't really disclose any meaningful info to the person who does not have access to the forum.
I'll see what it would take not to show forums & last post ids of the forums people do not have read access to.
One thing you've mentioned which is pretty interesting IMHO is to add the ability to ignore all anonymous posts. Currently that is impossible to do and I think it could be a most useful feature for a forum that allows anonymous posting.
As for filtering messages based on their content, that would require too much realtime regex on every message and quite frankly I do not belive that is a very meaningful feature.
We already have a "word filter" that would permit the admin to have certain words replaced if they find those words in appropriate. So there is a way to block certain words/expressions already.

>>Ok, these weren't really necessary features
Yeah I know, but every little bit helps. I've finished some of the main faces, here is a sample.
BTW, I tried to be unique, and some smilies look like they're from xmb, If you don't like tham, I'll try again

Tom if you click on the "Unread Posts" you'll see ALL your unread posts. If you click on that link while in a forum, it'll show you all the unread posts for that forum.
This is a feature that was part of FUDforum since version 1.1

Tom, the other suggestion is something which is not really a part of a forum. You simply run a query and fetch recents topics from the forum's database.

There is a manual prune feature, I think an auto-prune feature would be a dangerous thing to have. Since a simple mis-configuration can cause in permanent loss of valuable data.
Of course you need to consider why are you prunning messages? Unlike in other board which had introduced the prunning feature, there are little to no performance gain achived by removing old messages.
