I am interested in hiding or even better, removing the Profile
button that appears next to each individual post made in FUD forum. It appears that I would need to edit the 'msg' template but when I go to edit it, I can find no mention of 'msg_about.gif' or the Profile link. Am I missing something?

actually you need to edit the drawmsg.tmpl template that is what draws the messages.

That worked, thanks for the info!

Somewhat related to the Profile section, I have another question
about the information that is displayed when you access this
section. After making a post on the forum as the Administrator,
I accessed my own profile to see what was displayed. There was
a section called "Referrals" listed which displayed all usernames on our forum.
In our case, this is a very bad thing due to the fact that we've set up multiple,
private forums and have granted users access to "their" forum. I know how to
disable the referrals link (and have done so) but what is it for? Is there a setting
within the forum to
disable this or must I edit the template after each install? Thanks again!

In 2.5.0 there is admin option that turns off referral tracking completely. So, you'll have to wait for 2.5.0 stable, which hopefully gives you incentive to test 2.5.0 betas, so we can get the stable release out ASAP Wink

If I have only 2.3 so far, how can I disable the referral option? This is causing havoc on my site.

In 2.3.X series it cannot be disabled without modifying the source code of the forum. However, until 2.5.0 stable comes out I would not recommend upgrading existing forums to that release.
So, my suggestion for the moment, is to wait...
