A lot of code fragments and formatted text files get sent to my forum via email. I really _need_ to retain the whitespace (as if I had used the FUDcode code tags) when users send this stuff to the board.

Is there a mangeling that will do this? There is no straight css solution, because even if you force IE to obey whitespace: pre, FUD puts in <br /> and this makes things dbl spaced.

I seems the easiest solution is to put '&nbsp; ' for every space, but FUD seems to quote those, which is not the desired effect.

ideas? What am I missing?

You can wrap the messages inside

tags, which will effectively treat the text as if it were inside
block.
