Hello,

getting this error:

Fatal error: SQL Error has occurred, please contact the administrator of the forum and have them review the forum's SQL query log in /home/chicagoh/public_html/forum/include/theme/default/err.inc on line 102

everything looks right in globals.php
the install file was uploaded in binary mode.
the only other response to an error like this was one to update the users_adm.inc.t file but in the release notes after that post it looks like it was taken care of.

I have several other php scripts that hit this mySQL setup
and yes i'm using a different db for the forum

any ideas?

Login as the administrator and go to the error log viewer it should tell you what is the actual query that had failed.

Hello,

I get this error right after i install. i click finish and then go and remove the install.php file like the instructions told me to (i also tried doing it the other way for grins). The page goes to try and bring up the login page (i would guess) and then that error happens.

I can give you the URL on the top of the page once i get home.

Hmm your forum has errors/ directory inside you will find sql_errors file, send that file to me if you are unable to access the error viewer control panel.

The error you are seeing is:
1044: Access denied for user: 'chicagoh_chcboar@localhost' to database 'chicagoh_msgboard'
Query: LOCK TABLES fud23_ses WRITE

It means your MySQL account does not have access to LOCK permissions. You need to ask your host to enable it.

Not a forum bug, the error simply means mysql_pconnect had failed, most likely this is the result of too many open connections at the time of connect. Unless you have A LOT of those errors they are pretty safe to ignore. As a safety measure I would however disable persistent MySQL connections (sql section of forum's settings).

I made the change to my SQL settings as you suggested. Checked the error log after a few days and No SQL errors!!

Nope, your error is different.
The SQL error you get is:
) 1044: Access denied for user: 'poemki_jenigma@localhost' to database 'poemki_fudforum'

Meaning that you have specified incorrect access credential for the MySQL database.

The information I supplied is correct though. The database poemki_fudforum exists and user poemki_jenigma is added to it. My host is localhost and my password was entered correctly. When I go to the database in phpMyAdmin, I see that the tables were created; so why am I getting this error?

That's a question for your ISP, the error is quite clear, according to MySQL the specified credentials are insufficient. This does not even have to do with the forum.

I have just had a power outage (caused by my dad !!!)
The forum will not start now, I am getting the following in my sql_errors file.

Can anybody please diagnose this problem for me.

The error is:
1016: Can't open file: 'fud23_ses.MYI'. (errno: 145)

To fix it you need to repair all MySQL tables, because after a power failure they have become corrupt since they were not closed correctly.
Ex. REPAIR TABLE [table_name];

That was weird. It seemed to have just reset itself or something.
I went into my Web host control panel, added that user to the
FudForum MySQL database again, and all was well. :-\
