2.3.8 - Can't register? [message #10963]

i like the forums, and am setting up a set for my clan over at http://forums.looney-toons.org

one small problem, i cannot register a new user, the when i click register it starts the process again (either from the COPPA page or from the "Registration to this forum is free! We do ..." page

just downloaded the latest bz2 on the site Smile

The problem is probably quite simple, you are probably using an old php version & have file_uploads (php ini setting) off. This causes a problem because any data submit to multi-part forms is lost. The simplest solution to turn on file_uploads setting in your php.ini

according to phpinfo uploads are enabled

however i noticed it's a fairly old php (4.1.2 ACK), so i'm going to beg my host to update it, it probably explains my problems with every other forum script as well, didn't think it was that outdated

i think i'll try out 2.5 once php has been updated
