Unofortunately I can't find any similarities between these users. They all try different browsers, and I even try logging in for them. I can log in under my account fine, and many other users can log in, but certain users have contacted me privately saying they cannot log in. I tried one of their accounts myself, and basically what it does is send them back to the main forum page as if they hadn't actually logged in. Again, I can log in and out just fine, and so can other users. This all started once we upgraded to the new RC (I'm now on RC6 with the same issues). This wasn't a problem on 2.3.8, but we changed versions because we were having issues with posts taking forever to clear (IE, the post hit's the board right away, but the user's screen lags taking them back to the thread, it just sits there loading. If you wait through it, which can take many minutes, sometimes it double posts). This "slow-posting" happens with all users, but doesn't happen all the time, so it could be hardware or a sql error, so I haven't really looked into it deeply. However, the cookie error or whatever it is that isn't allowing certain users to log in is something that I can't fix. Any help would be appreciated.

Posting is probably the most intensive process in the forum. but certainly should not take anywhere near the time you say it does. Unless you have a huge forum running on a really old/busy machine.
As for the login problem that is quite interesting I have not had such reports before ans since you can confirm it by using that user's account that's certainly something to look at. Contact me privately via PM or e-mail, I'd like to see some additional information that should not be shown publically, perhaps you could provide me with access to your forum & the 'buggy' account in question.
