I just tried to upgrade to version 2.5.1 of the forum software and I am getting the following error message:

Quote:

Archive did pass checksum test, CORRUPT ARCHIVE!
If you've encountered this error it means that you've:
downloaded a corrupt archive
uploaded the archive in ASCII and not BINARY mode
your FTP Server/Decompression software/Operating System added un-needed cartrige return ('\r') characters to the archive, resulting in archive corruption.

I have however, transferred the file in the usual way, using lynx to download the tar.gz file and then "tar zxvf FUDforum_upgrade_2-5-1.tar.gz" to uncompress the archive and then I just copy the file over to the WWW_ROOT_DIR and run the update.php script. This doesn't work. Any ideas? I am using the NON-zlib version.

Using the ZLIB compression upgrade tar file, I started up the upgrade process and got the following:
-----
Disable the forum
Forum is now disabled
Check if SQL permissions to perform the upgrade are avaliable
Beginning the file upgrade process
Begining to decompress the archive
Finished decompressing the archive
File Upgrade Complete
Any changed files were backed up to: "/<path to install>/data/errors/.backup/"

Fetch SQL archive
SQL archive is now avaliable
Beginning SQL Upgrades
SQL Upgrades Complete
Populating pdest field for private messages
Updating file sizes of attachments
Adding GLOBAL Variables
Compiling theme default
Undefined template: "TEMPLATE" inside "curtime"
-----

I was upgrading from 2.5.0, and judging by the way it just stopped with the upgrade process, I am assuming that it did not successfully upgrade to 2.5.1...

Any ideas as to what the cause might be?

Are you using modified templates?

Ok, I had version 2.3.3 installed so I decided to upgrade to 2.3.8 then 2.5.0 and then try to upgrade to 2.5.1. The upgrades to version 2.3.8 and 2.5.0 went ok, but when I tried upgrading to version 2.5.1 I got the same error message that I had before...

"Archive did pass checksum test, CORRUPT ARCHIVE!"... Etc.

The md5 matches once I have downloaded the file to my UNIX box so it looks ok.

I did however take a look at the code in the upgrade.php file and at the point that this error occurs, 2 variables are being checked:
$data=bc84b7608d0946a84bbbfb017e7e04e6
$checksum=26b75aa3573cbca861667348cc7d0ba4

They aren't the same, however the zlib version has $data=26b75aa3573cbca861667348cc7d0ba4
$checksum=26b75aa3573cbca861667348cc7d0ba4

Which match. I don't know if the non zlib version should have the same checksum at this place or not. There seems to be something wrong here.

Hopefully this can help for someone to help me debug what is going on.

Did the upgrade script for 2.5.1 have write permission to the directory it was in?

Try the 2.5.2 release, the problem should be fixed.
