With Netscape:
1) From the Main Page, not logged in, choose login 2) Enter login information, check Cookies 3) Forum brings you back to the Home page NOT logged in and no error messages 4) Navigate to a forum and try to post new thread 5) Error screen, informing you that you need to log in. 6) Click the login link from that page 7) Enter login information, check Cookies. Forum returns you to Home Page, this time logged in

I went to http://www.ccg-workshop.com/forum/ and registered an account there.
Then I did the following in Mozilla 0.9.9 & Netscape 4.76 on Linux.
Clicked on the login link & entered my login info and clicked login. It logged me in just fine. This is all with cookies enabled.
Now, there is a potential problem if your "main page" is not http://www.ccg-workshop.com/forum/ but rather a different domain. This would definately cause the problem you are seeing.
Because initially the browser would fail to set a cookie on the wrong domain and when you get redirected you get redirected to the correct domain, which is why the 2nd login is working.
Could you tell me is the test you've done were on Windows and if so which version, I'll then try to repeat my test using those browsers on Windows.

I just recived registration confirmation email from your forum and I think I see a problem. The confirmation URL it had sent me was missing a domain name. This means that your WWW_ROOT variable is probably missing a domain name as well.
Please verify your settings in the admin control panel, 2 the variables you want to look @ are WWW_ROOT and Cookie Domain.
your WWW_ROOT should be: http://www.ccg-workshop.com/forum/ your Cookie Domain should be: .ccg-workshop.com

BugLaden wrote on Thu, 04 April 2002 3:44 PM | Ok, after messing with it, I can't get IE to log in..
So here is what I have:
WWW Root: http://www.ccg-workshop.com/forum/
Cookie Path: /forum/ Cookie Domain: .ccg-workshop.com
I think that's it. Am I missing any others?

It appears to be A OK.
I've tried 3 browsers on 2 OSes and all were able to log me in fine.
Mozilla 0.9.9 & Konqueror 3.0 on Linux and IE 6.0 on Windows XP.
Try closing your browser and then try to login again.
