Click 'Members', search By Login using "gribnif" and it says 'none found'. But if you enter in "Gribnif" then it finds it just fine.

Same with my login name.

Must be recent bug, as it works just fine in my v2.3.5 board.

Login names are case sensetive.

I think that, for ease of use, this feature really should use a "like" query, so that the search will be case-insensitive.

You can't expect your users to know the exact case of someone whose name is something silly like GrIBnIF (I've seen people do this!)

Like query won't help because the field is treated as case sensetive.

You're right. So much for my limited knowledge of SQL Smile

I still think this should be considered, since the search feature isn't very useful as it is, IMHO.

It's a balance, if I allow case insensetive searches the 'alias' pool is reduced since you no longer can have Joe and JOE and joe, etc... there can only be 1 joe.

Personally, I think that would be a good thing. It would prevent someone from creating a new account called "joe", just so that they can pretend to be "Joe".
