Hi!

We are trying to replace our existing CMS to achive the following things:

* articles are regular forum messages that can be replied. The articles have to be displayed on a seperate page per article.

* the article list has to show the first lines of the last articles (but no reply) on the startpage.

* The articles have to be formatted with included pictures like this article: http://piratenpartei-hamburg.de/?q=node/75

Just take a look at our website to see what we want: http://piratenpartei-hamburg.de/

We want to combine the comment function of an article with the forum. Additionally we want to combine our mailing lists with our forum. For the last request FUD is ideal. For the others I don't know.

Has anybody a clue how to achive this?

Michael

You can use the FUDapi to pull the messages from a thread, and you can create a thread with the FUDapi when you submit a news post.

Then you can just add a form below the news post in your CMS where users can submit their posts.

Then you can read the posts in that thread either with the FUDapi or the RSS feed and display them below your CMS post.

The FUDapi is located in DATA_ROOT/scripts I think.

This is an interesting idea. The first post can be themed as the "main article" and subsequent posts can be themed as replies/comments on the article. To get you started look at the drawmsg.tmpl template.
