I apologize in advance if this has been asked before.

Is it possible to lock some threads and moved them into some type of archive forum section e.g. Archived? Were the Archived section can still be searched and viewed.

Thanks!

Sure you can. Just create a forum called "Archive" and set its properties to search and view only. You can then move or "bulk move" old topics into it.
