for example, if i have a Simple rule which blocks an expletive like say 'shit'

to subvert this rule a person can simply go
sh[i]i[/i]t


i.e. make a letter italic.

obviously i can make a regex to ignore square braces etc.

but i thought i would put this is a bug incase it wants to be addressed

Like you said, this is a new feature request and not a bug.

Anyway, if you can write a patch (or convince someone else to do it) it can be added.
