it would be great if you could write one - what exactly would you need to have in this data dump - i have more or less all the components, the perl script, sample messages etc, whatever ...

there seems to be a good bit up about the script at http://www.scriptarchive.com/readme/wwwboard.html

I need the message data (database) and any additional files such as file attachments etc... Being able to see how the original looks would be of assistance as well.

sorry for being thick but do you mean you need all the data that people put into the forum ( i think that each message gets stored in an indivual html file on the server ) and the file attachments that the users would have attached ... all of this is no problem if that's what you want -- it's just that even though there are not many posts on the forum, there are a good few files generated -


also when you say

Hi Ilia,

like bobmurphy I/we (a community of some thousands Renault Espace drivers) plan to move to FUDforum from a board, where every message is stored in a single html file. It is based on wwwboard, but enhanced by a german 'free forum' provider called Parsimony (can be found on http://www.parsimony.de, Forum download at http://wiki25.parsimony.net/cgi-bin/wiki/program/db-view.cgi?wiki62857;1 - unfortunatly only in German).

We have three of these forums running. The one with the least traffic is http://www.espace-freunde.de/forum_familie/index.htm, the medium one is http://www.espace-freunde.de/forum_boese/index.htm and the most traffic has http://www.espace-freunde.de/forum/index.htm (about 100 messages every day, about 30.000 messages in the last 18 months and also 30.000 html files on the disk!).

If you could create a converter for (or if your wwwboard converter should work with) this it would be great. There are thousands of german forums stuck into this Parsimony system. I didn't find any converter for this system yet (for any forum software).
Maybe this can be a great chance to improve your market share and user base in Germany!?
