Unfortunatly no categories were shown, although still existent in the System

Simply manually updating one category in the admin (without any change of content) did fortunatly solve the issue ...

Looks like a small database incompatibility, but thats most what I can guess.

My guess is you haven't done step 3: Run the consistency checker.

Yes,you are right. Had some other majour problems,so dind´t really check carefully for that
