My forums works fine. In trying to setup a mailing list, not all forums show in the drop down menu to select forums.

I poked around in /var/www/fud/ and /var/FUDForum/ but nothing jumped out. I do see:

mysql>
mysql> select name from fud30_forum;
ERROR 2006 (HY000): MySQL server has gone away
No connection. Trying to reconnect...
Connection id: 128
Current database: nntp

+------------------------+
name
+------------------------+
First Forum
Members
Staff
comp.os.linux.advocacy
dummy
+------------------------+
5 rows in set (0.07 sec)

mysql>

which reflects what I see in the web interface for FUDForum, that the forums are there and work fine. I'm just monkeying about on my own system and the above is to test this out.

Now, when creating a mailing list, dummy does appear on the drop-down menu, but not comp.os.linux.advocacy. Why is that?

I created the forum gmane.network.leafnode and then created a mailing list for this forum:

mysql>
mysql> select name from fud30_forum;
ERROR 2006 (HY000): MySQL server has gone away
No connection. Trying to reconnect...
Connection id: 145
Current database: nntp

+------------------------+
name
+------------------------+
First Forum
Members
Staff
comp.os.linux.advocacy
dummy
gmane.network.leafnode
+------------------------+
6 rows in set (0.06 sec)

mysql>

The forum is certainly there. However, in the newsgroup manager, the drop down list for forums omits gmane.network.leafnode. Why?

Probably because it's already used for another group or mailing list.
