When conecting to news server ssl://news.dom port 563 to import news nntp.php can't connect.
FUDforum: 3.0.4
PHP: 5.4.9
Database: mysql 5.1.48-community (mysqli)
Operating system: Linux 2.6.32-279.14.1.el6.x86_64
openssl 1.0.0
Can't connect maybe handshake error.
The same news servel ssl://news.dom port 563 is accesed from a windows machine with php 5.2.14, can connect and import one news then SQL error.

So:
- Windows php 5.2.14 openssl 0.9.8k can connect but then SQL error incorrect string in second new importes
- Linux php 5.4.9 openssl 1.0.0 can't even connect to the same news server.

Any clue?

Solved , It depends of the version of PHP openssl to access the News Server with SSL I have to specific ssl version in protocol part of the URL

Windows php 5.2.14 openssl 0.9.8k --> sslv2://news.dom
Linux php 5.4.9 openssl 1.0.0 --> sslv3://news.dom
