Nothing will keep spammers from trying to send their stuff.
So filtering (or better rejecting) spam is the only reasonable solution
to avoid it.
What's your proof, that spammers will stop, just because you tell them
you don't want their spam? How many spammers could you convince to stop
it by responding to their spam?
