Hello!

Please help and thanks!

I set up everything according to the 15 minute install topic.
I have SQL, PHP, and Apache install on my local machine.
My webservice has PHP already running.
I FTP'd FUDForum directory to my website.
I ran install using a browser from my website and I can't get past server install errors (probably because my database is local).
I tried installing from my local machine at and I got the program installed on my local machine just fine.
don't I need it to run on my website?
How do I connect FUDForum from my local machine to my website?

Thanks!
Craig Bryant

Not sure what error you get, but it's perfectly OK to use a local database server.
However, you need to enter the correct database host (127.0.0.1), DB name, userid and password when promoted for it.

What I don't understand is that MySQL and Appache are installed on my local machine. I don't think my webhose it going to let me intalled software on their server. So I have FUD Forum running just fine on my local machine. Which is great if all I want to do is create posts to myself.. LOL

My database is on my local computer
My website is at a hosted site
there is no connection between the two
I'm cornfused.....

Your provider has to be setup similar to your local machine. The provider usually has a "panel" in which to install/configure MySQL and php for your domain. Apache is a given Wink. You may have to ask your provider if they have these services for your site or even allows you to run a forum.

Hope this helps!
