Well, you have claimed that my original question shows a basic lack of
knowledge of terms used in programming", and that the definition of
"expression", what's covered in your "Introduction to Programming"
course would have cleared up my question. So stating this definition
here would be helpful, won't it?

Otherwise it occurs to me that you've made a claim that you can't prove.
