I'm using FUDforum in connection with eGroupWare. The current version ships with 2.6.0 of FUDforum.
EDIT:
But I encounter this behaviour also on this forum here. May this be a browser problem? I'm using Opera 7.54
EDIT2:
Today it was somehow strange with this link. The first time I clicked on it, I stayed after load on the main page, but the topics I didn't read where shown as unread (but they shouldn't). After another click it worked. All messages where shown as read and I stayed on the main page. I have to repeat my statement from another thread: every piece of software has it's own AI

Wrong redirect seems to be a strange ssue, the logic of the redirect works by smply taking the previous URL you were on (stored by forum on each request) and then send you to that URL. The being redirect to a page different from the one you were on previously implies that browser is reporting the URL improperly.
That said I was rather astounded by this problem, so I went and downloaded Opera 7.54 for windows and tried my best to replicate the problem on 2 separate forum installs. In both cases I was unable to do so.

Based on your more detailed explanation I must conclude that there is no bug, everything works as expected. The forum sends you back to the page you were on last, which in your case is the message you have read last.
