Like this forum, how can I place a banner at the top of the forum page?

i don't have this file in my fud forum directory. is it possible ? i use the 2.6.8. version.

It is in one of the sub-directories. Just do a find for it!

Example: 
$ find . -name header.tmpl
./fuddata/thm/default/tmpl/header.tmpl
./fuddata/thm/path_info/tmpl/header.tmpl

ok, i had not checked in this folder, sorry.
I have now tryed to change these two files you are talking about, putting some text in many different place of the file, but with no result/change in the display of my forum...

You should rebuild theme. if you change it manually.
Or use admin interface>template editor.
