What version of the forum are you using?
Do you have mbstring or iconv support enabled?

You need to re-index the forum in order to enable searching.

Unusual, in my tests indexing gb2312 worked... Have you checked the search tables and see what they contain?

You are using the default (English) theme, which indexes rules based on english. Had you been using big-5 theme it would've worked.

GB2312 should also be indexable fine...

Try the "default-chinese" theme on this forum.

Words that are 2 characters or shorter are not being indexed.
So in "chinese,OK,test", only the words "chinese" and "test" will be indexed.
