hi,

in my first post here i want to tell you that FUDforum is a great piece of software (comparing to well known and widespread phpbb and ipb packages), its a pity that its quite unpopular...

today i made a little research - i wanted to set up a little, closed community for beta-testing my plugins for video software. i found FUDforum and i fast recognized that is what i need: attaching files to post without any stupid mods to forum code, flexible user permissions etc. in one word: all what i need. but...

i made initial setup and template tweaking on my local machine and it works great. then i decided to put forum online, and my problems starts after importing exported data from localhost...

i found here threads where peoples have similar problem as i have. after logging in and browsing few pages forum says that i am not logged and requests login again and again. login is possible after cleaning up cookies and cache but not always. ill checked cookie domain, path and expiration - it looks fine. after few head-scratch i decided to test forum in other browser (opera 7.54) and i noticed that it works without any problems. i also tried reinstalling firefox and trying to login with clean firefox profile but this dont solve problem.

i dont know where to search reasons for this - is there additional info that i can provide for solving this?

thanks in advance,
Maciek

yes, that was first thing i checked up... my forum domain is "freeframe.visualvinyl.net" and path "/beta/" and cookie in firefox says:

host: .freeframe.visualvinyl.net
path: /beta/

so this thing match. also cookie expiration date are set with great reserve, so its not timezone related problem... i have some webdevelopment experience so its even strange for me...

Try changing the host cookie to "freeframe.visualvinyl.net", the leading dot is not needed, since you already have 2 in the domain name.

It is only added if the host does not already have @ least 2 dots in it.

If you want PM me admin details to the forum and I'll take a look @ the settings.

i already solved this problem but i forgot to write about it here...

it was problem related to my ISP proxy server which probably blocks/modify some types of cookies - when i switched to direct connection everything works fine...

sorry for this fuss Wink
