Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at c:\inetpub\messages\include\email.inc:142) in c:\inetpub\messages\include\widgets.inc on line 159"

The error is actually a PHP error.

The PHP is complaining about your mail server, hence the "Server Error" warning message. I am rather surprised that you get this error if registration emails work.

Try the following test code and see if you get the same error:

<?php
mail("DESTINATION_EMAIL_ADDRESS", "test email", "testing mail system",
"From: DESTINATION_EMAIL_ADDRESS\r\nReply-To: DESTINATION_EMAIL_ADDRESS\r\nBcc: ANOTHER_DESTINATION_EMAIL_ADDRESS");
?>

Try the FUDforum's email form see if you get the same error as before. Also, if you could show me your phpinfo() output it'be MOST useful.

------------cut-here---------
<?php
phpinfo ();
?>
------------cut-here---------

Save this as phpinfo.php or any other name u prefer to use. Upload it to ur server and call the file. Now it should show u some output.
HTH
bye Ken

Thanks.

I believe I have enough info to figure out this bug. Although I am still waiting for the email that you've sent with the test script.

I found the bug, it appears to have been a problem with your mail server since it didn't like the fact that PHP set sendmail_from field. Even though PHP docs explicitly say that option is for Win32!

For everyone else who has this problem, the fix is in the CVS.
The 2 affected files are: core.inc and email.inc

Just in case you don't have CVS the patched files are attached to this message.
  • Attachment: email.inc
    (Size: 5.22KB, Downloaded 780 times)
  • Attachment: core.inc
    (Size: 3.64KB, Downloaded 659 times)
