so I can't seem to get FUD to work with an exim mail server. It crapps out with the email. Does FUD support ESMTP? I think the problem is FUD sends HELO and exim requires EHLO

FUDforum's SMTP wrapper supports SMTP, both EHLO and HELO command should be supported by your SMTP server. My Qmail ESTMP supports it and so does Exim server i've tried it on.

the problem I found was that my server will not allow AUTH unless EHLO has already been called. If it recieves HELO, it will not allow AUTH. The only way I could get it to work was to not use AUTH and add the FUDforum server's IP address to a list of hosts that could relay without authenticating.

I am not so sure how much I like that setup....authentication is good and is used for a reason.
