I tried to create a post only forum but as soon as I turn off read mask the forum can not be accessed. I would like to have a forum where users can only post messages and they can not see messages from other users that have posted to this forum. Only administrators and special users can read this forum.

If you take away read permission obviously people will not be able to access the forum. If you want them to be able to create topics you need to provide a direct link to the posting form.
