After the second instalation page I get a blank page. Independently of what I fill at the second page (database information).

Could you give me some information about your configuration?

phpinfo() output would be the best, if not then what is php version, apache version, is safe_mode turned on?

Thanks for the phpinfo output. I see you are running php as CGI for apache, is there are reason for this? ASPI module is much faster and generally better to use then CGI.

I'll install php CGI on my local system and try to replicate the problem, hopefuly I will be able to do so.

Oh - sorry. The output I've provided was generated by running php from command line.
I was not aware that it might be important.

This time I attache the output of a web server generated info.

So It appeared to be mysql not enabled. Quite obvious.
But the strange thing was why the error message was being lost.

That was indeed a strange problem, since normally PHP is quite 'expressive' about non-existant functions. I suspect the lack of a proper message is more the fault of the PHP rather then anything else.
