I've to integrate the forum with some custom scripts, and i've to get the user name currently logged in, if any.
I tried to look into the FUDApi... but cannot find... any hint?

The code you need can be found inside forum_login.php script inside the scripts/ directory. It includes functions allowing you to authenticate users into FUDforum from other applications.
