Hi

Hope you'll bear with a novice here. Am currently in the throes of preparing a forum to move from Yahoo to something like this. Have looked at phpBB and various other systems, and this seems to tick most of the boxes, but I'd just like clarification on some (sorry, rather a lot) questions.

1) There is one absolute requirement for this move, and that is, it's got to have integration with an email list. Rolling Eyes

People must be able to receive and to post via email. It seems this is possible with FudForum and that it's actually integrated into the program rather than being a plug-in. Is this correct?

2) Is it possible to receive emails individually or as a digest?

3) If the latter is possible, does it have links like the Yahoo one which allow the recipient to post back to the forum?

4) On a forum that has several boards that have sub-boards, is it possible to subscribe for email only to one of the sub-boards rather than a main board?

4) Is it possible to edit and delete messages like in phpBB forums? I can't see these options.

5)Does anyone know of a free host that uses FudForum with the mail integration?

5) No idea, but most hosts will have sufficient means to offer this capability.

Thank you so much for this. Could I just ask 2 more quesitons (and repeat one, because it was entirely my fault for not numbering it correctly, so I had two no. 4s)?

1) Have you got any plans to offer a digest function? I see someone else was asking for it some time back, and the stumbling block seemed to be about sending it out at the same time each day.

2) If not, does FudForum work with DigestMod?

3)Is it possible to edit and delete messages like in phpBB forums? I can't see these options. If so, whereabouts are they?

3) These options are visible to moderators and admins only, but they are available. You also have mass prune options inside the admin control panel.
