The rss feed for the last messages in the forum (URL: http://fudforum.org/forum/rdf.php?mode=m&l=1&basic=1) contains some very old items, so there are a lot of items that correspond to posts made in 2007.

There is no limit set to it grabs the maximum # of messages and there were not that many new messages in '08

I don't think that this is the full explanation, because the last two items I see are even from June.
