Howdy again...

My forum is slowly growing - 25 members and about a 100 messages.
(and working great now, thanks!)

I just did an internal Backup, and the compressed file was 100MB !!

Is this normal?

Will it grow exponentially larger as my user/message base increases?

If I just copy the whole directory structure (html up), am I going to miss anything?

That does appear excessive, which version of the forum are you running? There were a number of major changes to the backup script in release 2.2.1, which cleaned in up a lot.
For example, I just did a backup of a 4,000 message forum and it came out to 25 megs compressed.

It was 2002_07_01 I believe..

I upgraded to 08 last night, so I'll give it another go...

Part of the problem was that the archiver would backup the forum's tmp directory, which contained the archive. Hence the bloated archive size.
