We have the possibility to receive a notification via email or we can receive the whole new post via a html-email. (This is a great feature!)
Some of my users asked for a possibility to receive the heading and the content of a posting as a text-email.
Thanks for thinking about it.

Actually, when fullbody email is sent it is sent as a multi-part email, 1 part HTML 1 part plain text. So, if the person's email client does not support HTML or has HTML disabled they will see the plain text version.

Hence, the feature you've requested is already implemented.

I hoped that this would be implemented so, but at work our Outschlook only shows an empty email with an attachment containing the html-source of the mail.
So it's not possible to get notified at work. Sad
Is it possible, that this is
a) a bug?
b) a problem at the mailserver?
c) only a client problem?

I'll check this problem, during the Q&A on upcomming 2.3.0, but when I first added the feature it appeared to have worked fine with
Kmail on linux and Outlook on windows.

I'll test it with KMail too and tell you the result.
BTW, Mozilla-Mail shows the html-mail perfectly!

I see, so the problem is that HTML part of the email appears as an attachment instead of showing it as an email, but when you open the attachment it does show valid HTML?

Outlook shows me an empty email containing an attachment. This attachment is in html-format. I would take a look at the html-code tomorrow at work. Or should I forward such an attachment to you?

Perhaps it is also possible to force mozilla just to show the text-mail not the html-mail by default. So I could also check if the text-part is generated right.

I wouldn't eliminate, that my problem is a outlook-problem!

It is indeed possible to make Mozilla or any e-mail client for that matter to prefer plain text over HTML. Just go through the settings carefuly, it is there.

If you could send me there entire source of the problematic message that would be most helpful in resolving this problem.

Mozilla-Mail shows both, text and html the right way. To change the view go to View,Message Body as.

I'll send you the attachment of Outlook mails via PM.

Perhaps it would be interesting to know, that if I send a combined HTML/Text-Mail out of Mozilla, Outlook would display it the right way.

I found the bug and the fix is in the CVS.
The latest code seems to generate a valid email, that looks fine in:
Kmail,Mozilla 1.0 Email,Outlook 6.0
