try changing the value of the SmallText class - try red or blue just to see what happens.

what I did was create my own style sheet, after learning how to use css, I then added this to the style sheet... And then I called my style sheet in the header right after the forum style sheet was called and I did an override sorta kinda maybe lol

OPTION
{
COLOR: silver;
BACKGROUND-COLOR: #373737;
}

And that was the way I solved my probelm, small text references all the small text - but does not address the forground and background colors of an object or selected object.

I waited for protoss to answer and decided to figure it out myself Smile

Thanks for your suggestion but this worked nicely..

protoss you need to add to the internal style sheet the object properties so ppl can change their drop down menu colors.

changing the value of smalltext will change the appearance of the text in the dropdown box....but is also changes the color of all the small text! Which is not really good, especially if you have a dark background for your forum....you want a light color on the background for all that small text but the background color of the dropdown box is white....which will make the text hard to see.

I had the same problem as you and posted a msg in the bug forum about several of the things related to the CSS. This is one of them and think I will adopt your method. As I said in that post, I think they did an outstanding job on the CSS.

I did a no-no for which I will probably be forever banned from using FUDForum: I thought using the templates thru the CP to be VERY, VERY slow. So I just made a copy of forum.css and renamed it forumce.css. I made changes to that file and uploaded it. Then I just change the filename in the header template.

Early on, I spent a lot of time making changes thru the template process only to have the file overwitten in an upgrade or a re-install. I groaned but I happen to be a back-up freak and found a backup copy.

Actually inside forumsel.tmpl there is a section where you could've defined the style for the background of the drop down select boxes.

Hello!

I`m in the same situation:

I have a testinstall of FUD here

http://shangrila.valo.at/fud

and would like to have it in these colors.

Unfortunatly the Login-boxes and the timezone/change-forum dropdownmenus are white on white because of "smalltext".

I use 2.3.8 here, what is the recommended solution in the meantime? Has something changed since these postings here?

And since i`m not so good with CSS and the .tmpl-files: Where could i make change so all of the above mentioned drawbacks are solved?

Many thanks in advance,

Ciao,

Steve

Hello!

Ok, i was now searching for hours and by a mistake (adding a # too much) i discovered that, when i don`t set a color for "SmallText" i get Black on White in the dropdownmenus (Login, timezone in the userprofile or the "go to forum"-menu) while having white on grey for example in the who is online-section.

So it seems that the values i set f.e. for row_style_a take precedence here so that it fits well?

Although it sounds logic I`m puzzled but even more happy now, since it`s 2 o`clock in the morning here and i didn`t thought i`ll solve this Smile !

Ciao,

Steve
