I just installed fudforum on my test box, freebsd/php/mysql, and it works great on that box. When I connect from any other machine the forum loads, but there is no style sheet applied, so the page looks absolutely awful.
I have attached a screenshot of what it looks like.
How do I fix this problem?

There is your problem.
You've specified the server's URL as localhost, so things like .css path broke, because they look like:
http://localhost/FUDforum2/theme/default/forum.css

meaning that it'll only work from local machine. Go to Admin Control Panel, change the value of 'WWW Root', the rebuild the theme using the 'Theme Manager'. Once that is done the problem will go away.

Thanks. That took care of it.
I have downloaded the docs, which are very complete, but is there any kind of 'getting started' tutorial? Something that covers basic setup and admin useage, so I don't have to just flounder around changing things willy-nilly, trying to figure out what 'has' to be changed and what doesn't?

Hmm... I have not considered a 'getting started' tutorial for FUDforum. quite frankly so far no one has asked for it Smile
Perphaps, that is something I will add in the future.

The existing documentation should tell you in detail what each admin control panel does and how it works, so I do not imagine you having difficulties setting up and configuring you forum.

I understand. I was just thinking of maybe a quick checklist type of doc - "Now you have FUDForum2 installed, here's what to do to get your first forums up and running in no time!".
Hmm, guess I figured that out already. Embarassed
The manual is great. Now I have some forums set up to demo this to my boss, what's next? I'm not sure where to go next in all the options.
Anyway, I'm just rambling now, waiting for my ISP to get the directories set up, they have php running in safe_mode. So far I have it running on my test machine here on my desk.

Well, what's next is really up to you...
Once you have the forum installed it is ready for use. All you might want to do is setup some categories and forums in those categories. After that's done just wait for visitors to come & post messages Smile.
