Hi all,
I have subscription/email notification working fine for regular forums, but it seems that forums on my site that have a limited membership do not send out notifications for new topics if someone subscribes to them. Is there a bug here or am I doing something wrong?
I'm running FUD 2.3.0 on RedHat 7.3 with MySQL on a private (intranet) site.
Thanks in advance.

I assume that when you refer to forums with limited membership you are talking about forums which only certain users are allowed to access. And the access in granted via the group manager, is this correct?

I've tested this bug and cannot replicate it. You can however do a small test of your own.
Register a test user on your forum and grant that user access to one of your private forums. Then have that user subscribe to any topic inside that forum. Then as another user post a message inside that same topic. If all works the test user should've recieve an email notification about new message.
If this test does work then the 'problem' is actually intended behaviour. What it means, is that the users who do not recieve notifications do not recieve them for another reason. That reason being that they have previous unread messages that they have not read and are subscribed to and in order not to swamp them with emails the forum does not send another email notification.

Like I said, try the test I've shown in my previous message and see if you get the lack of notification problem. Otherwise the reason for lack of email is because the user had recieved a notification about a topic and did not read that topic, so the notification system withholds any further notifications.

That explains a lot of things is there any way to turn this behaviour off? (currently running 2.3.1).
