Is there anyway you could point me to a doc that would let me see which timezones are supported on Solaris?
Unfortunately I have not access to a Solaris box myself, so I cannot test this for myself.

Could you tell me which timezones have you tried to use?
Also, please keep in mind that you'll also need to change your personal timezone in your account's settings. The timezone specified in the admin control panel only applies to anonymous users or becomes the default timezone for new registrants to the forum.

I saw the tree, it appears to support majority of the timestamps support by Linux and FreeBSD. Could you please tell me which timezones you've tried and whether or not you modified your own forum account to reflect these changes in timezones.

Ah, those timezones are probably not supported by your OS, which is why they did not work. Since there are usually several alternatives to popular timezones like EST a little testing usually can solve the problem.
