In the Message Edit window, shouldn't the users be allowed to completely delete their post?

While editing a post users may delete to contents of the message yes, but users cannot delete the actual message entry. That ability is retricted to admins,moderators and priveleged users who have been given this permission via the group system.

I don't think it's worth the change as I am not even sure how would such change work.
The feature specifically does this: 'it remembers the previous category state automatically for the user'.
This means that if you maximize some categories with forums you like and minimize categories with the forums you don't read, the next time you visit those settings would not be lost.
Nothing more, nothing less.
