1. If I chose "threaded message view" to view a message of a thread, all replies (messages) are not callapsed and I see the whole tree structure of the thread.

How much effort would it take to add a feature which allows to collapse/open threads/sub-threads by a mouse click.

If you don't know what I mean, here's a similar forum, just that it has this feature only for each thread and not also for all subthreads too (again in German: just klick on the "plus" icons to open a thread and on the "minus" icon to collapse it): http://www.heise.de/tp/foren/go.shtml?forum_id=34244&list=1&hs=0&am p;e=2390384

2. And what about a feature that allows to order the topics/threads of a forum by "Last post date", "start post date",...? It doesn't have to be ascending and descending.

Thanks - Andy

A fair bit.

Unlikely, I consider it useless.

to 2. :

it's just that the tree view is sorted by topic start date and flat view is sorted by last post date.

what i'd prefer was a hybrid index over all threads of a forum:
by default you see the flat view of the forum, but each topic/thread has a icon to expand it. if you click on that icon, only this thread is fully displayed while all other threads are still collapsed. then you can collapse this thread by clicking on this icon again.

and then again i think you need this order by "start date" and "last post date" (and if there's no search function, you definatly need some order by functions...).

Well, yes the sorting is different because otherwise building of the tree is impossible. Any sorting method other then the one used right now will break the tree, that is the nature of tree views.

There is nothing to stop you from writing a version of the tree view with colapsible topic Smile, I just do not think it is worth the time doing it.
