Hi folks,
After upgrading to the new version it indicates I'm still running 2.3.3. It very well could have something to do with the way I had to upgrade due to safe mode problems on a remote server.
What I had to do is save my forum settings - nuke the forum and data files - run 'install.php' for 2.3.4 - apply my saved settings to the forum.
I'm pretty sure that 2.3.4 is running because the 'submit reply' button (which, I think, was added in 2.3.4) is there alongside the 'spell check' and 'preview' options.
Is there anyway that I can conclusively check that I'm running 2.3.4 and a file I can edit to change the displayed version number?
Aside from that.....thanks for this very productive and easy to manage software. The quality is very impressive.

The file date is not relavent, because the file was created during decompressiong. Inside the file there is a CVS $Id line containing the actual CVS date of the file. Core.inc's date should be 2002/10/27 17:09:38

What you did was WRONG.
Thr upgrade procedure involves running the upgrade script not what you did. When you re-imported the 2.3.3 datadump the certain files like core.inc were replaced in the process. So, you are running an underminate mix of 2.3.3 and 2.3.4
