Some newsgrups uses Security policy like this:

Quote:

To prevent our users from accidents caused by using their e-mail addresses in Fido7 newsgroups by other people, we introduce a mechanism of users authentication.

It is based on the password that You received while registering (the so called 'magic number'). This password is to be provided in every message You post to any Fido7.nesgroup.

If You forgot Your password, we remind it for You via e-mail every time we receive a posting from Your address without the password, or with a wrong one.

You can place Your password in a message:

in From: field, near Your name
Example: From: "John Bull1234567890" <john(at)bull(dot)gov>

in Keywords: field
Example: Keywords: 1234567890
Example: Keywords: Moscow, weather 1234567890
Example: Keywords: Moscow, 1234567890, weather

At the first lines of Your message body.
We'll remove the password from the message while sending it, so nobody will know You password.

Do you meet newsgroups like this?

Whether you plan development of procedure of registration in such newsgroups?

sorry for my poor english Smile

Once again how to access password protected groups is clearly documents. Even from the control panel (newsgroup import) you can see there are fields for login/password.

Ilia,

I have some questions:

1) what difference between Simple and Original Authentication Method?

I have password of registred user of newsgroup.
I put his password in "password" field in Simple Authentication Method section in "Newsgroup Manager".

After this posts from post is not was exported to newsgroup.
Poster was received e-mail from newsgroup moderator about "access policy".

2) Say to me, Ilia, plz, when is used password from "Newsgroup Manager", once for login to NNTP-server?

Thanks for help Smile

Depends on authentication method, on some servers the authentication information needs to be sent before any command on the NNTP server is executed.
