File attachment icon not visible [message #6997]

If a file is attached as part of a reply to a topic, no file-attachment icon shows up on the topic overview.

Is this a bug?

Not a bug. The file attachment icon will ONLY appear in the event the the 'root' message has a file attachment.

Ok.

Is there an other way to rapidly see what topics have files attached.
I'm using the forum for music studio projects. Since topics and replies can have big file attachments I need a way to control the diskspace.

Would you have a suggestions?

Well, you can quickly get this information using a single, relatively simple MySQL query.

You can make any request, reasonable or not. The question whether or not it'll be implemented. At this point I have not yet made up my mind on this feature. I can see how it can be useful, especially on forums with many file attacments and so on... But there is always that nagging 'bloat'.

So, I'd really like to hear more opinions on this from other users, before making my mind on this issue.

Oh yes, since I were are entering a feature selection/request time I've setup a seperate thread inside the FUDforum 2.0 forum for feature requests & discussions of various features. So, please restrict yourself to making requests just inside that thread Smile

should be better raised in the appropriate forum, because else the threads could become chaotic leading to duplicate questions, reports or complaints and confusion. Wink

Sure I understand that there is a 'Suggestions' forum where request should be placed Olliver, it's not the first time I'm using this forum Smile

, but this topic was raised as a question towards the visibility of file-attachments. That's what started this topic. And that was not a feature request.

To me it appears that he's trying to that he did setup a separate thread as part of a topic, but I could find that topic.;

So Protoss, could you please clarify regarding 'selection/request time' & 'separate thread'.

I'll write a quick requirements definition & solution request and put this into the 'Suggestions' forum.
