I am of course new and this is driving me crazy. I bought webspace through geocities which came with the mysql database.. I uploaded the installphp, I am on the wizard and do not know how to create the directories for Server Root & Forum Data Root ... its telling me they don't exsist and I need to create them, do I just make a folder somewhere on my computer or make a sub directory on geocities server... I am lost and at this point feel pretty stupid.

I guess before I even start to tackle this I should ask a few questions. I have a Standard Business account with yahoo which says it has mysql and php....... has anyone been able to use fudforums with this?

Yes you make those directories manually with your FTP client and then chmod then 777 so that the forum installer has permissions to write to them. This is described in extreme detail in FUDforum's manual.
