Hi, Im new to this software and mysql Crying or Very Sad

and I am getting the following error on step 2 of the instalation
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /var/www/html/forums/install.php on line 92"

I am running on redhat 7.2
mysql version is
mysql> status
--------------
mysql Ver 11.15 Distrib 3.23.41, for redhat-linux-gnu (i386)

I have php version
[root@usel forum]# rpm -q php
php-4.1.2-7.2.6

I take the error means that i cant find the function 'mysql_connect() '

my ld.so.conf contains ...
/usr/kerberos/lib
/usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/lib/qt-2.3.1/lib
/usr/lib/qt-1.45/lib
/usr/lib/wine
/usr/lib/mysql
/usr/local/lib
/usr/lib/sane

I cant see whats causing the error and im stummped. Any help would be appreciated. I know its going to be something stupid but id better ask anyway Smile

Your php does not have mysql support.

Unless you are running your own server, you simply need to e-mail your ISP and ask them to enable MySQL support in their PHP install.

Otherwise you either need to recompile PHP with MySQL support or load mysql.so extension via php.ini.
