Question, do your personal settings (in the profile) use the amsterdamn's time zone or no?

You can, go in to the global control panel, scroll down to the "Server Time Zone" and using the select pick the timezone you wish to be the default one for the forum.

Quite correct, since the install script does not ask for the Time Zone, the root account is setup with the default time zone.

I'm having the same problem on with an installation of this on our intranet. Although the time zone is set to U.S./New York as the default in the admin section and also set to that in our user profiles, the actual time shown is GMT. I'd appreciate any help with this that anyone can provide.

Thanks!

Does this happen for all users or anonymous users only?

All users, registered and anonymous. The name of the time zone displayed for registered users is correct but the time shown is always GMT. Unregistered users see both the zone and the time as GMT. This also effects the timestamps of all posts and private messages. Sorry I can't give the URL for you to see for yourself but as I mentioned before, it's part of our company's intranet. Confused

Is this a UNIX or a windows system that the forum is installed on?

It's a Unix system.

Hmmm unusual... We handle timezones by exporting the $TZ variable which is supported in nearly all SysV compatible systems.

Which "brand" of Unix this is and is it possible to see the forum itself (url)?

Sorry, but the boss has .htaccess in place with strict rules against allowing non-employees in.

Attached you'll find the php info results you requested, including all functions supported in this build.

Okie, thanks... I'll take a look...

Well the TZ does get exported, thanks to the phpinfo you've sent me I can see that the variable is exported & has what appears to be the right value, "TZ US/Central".

Since you are running SunOS it should work okie, however I never had the chance to test TZ operations on a sparc. I'll see if I can weasel out a shell account on a sparc box to test this problem and fix it.

P.S. In the future send sensetive info such as phpinfo() via Private Message, that way only I see it Smile

Gotcha. Thanks for your help and good luck in tracking down this weird error. Aside from a few quirks like this, FUD is by far the BEST forum system I've seen and we've had to assess a LOT of them for our company before choosing this one.
