I've attempted to activate the message threshold on a couple of my forums with some rather lengthy posts, setting the threshold as low as 200 bytes (just to see if it would work). It doesn't appear to be working. I've tried logging in as an admin, a regular user, and an anonymous user and the psots all still appear to be longer than the threshold. I've also tried to post new content and it isn't being limited by the threshold either.
Am I just missing something obvious here?
I'm running 2.3.9RC1
Okay... maybe it is just me. I tried it again and it worked for some new posts. I could have sworn that it didn't work when I tried it earlier, but apprently I was doing something wrong.
I was a little surprised to see that the threshold wasn't applied to existing posts, only new ones.

You may have to use the Consistancy Checker or Compact option to have that option take effect on old messages.

Good call. The compacting did the trick on the old messages. Thanks!
