Our webhost recently went through major internal changes and moved many directories around. We have been able to resolve most of the problems this cause but there is one, however, that we haven't been able to figure out. I'm hoping someone can give us some ideas where the problem might be. By the way, this feature worked fine before this work by the webhost.

The problem is this: whenever a member uploads an Avatar in their profile and it comes to an Administrator to approve, all the Admin sees is a big red "X".

Any clues what might be causing this?

The problem seems to be that since our webhost made changes, the individual avatar files in the custom_avatar directory are written with permissions of 600 instead of 644.

The webhost changes included upgrading Apache to 2.0 and PHP to 4.3.1.

Our FUD forum version is 2.3.6.

Anyone know what I need to do to fix this? That is, to get the avatar script to write files with permissions set to 644?

The permission should be such that the user the forum is running as has read/write permission to these images. This mean they should be owned by the same group/user as the forum is running or have 666 file permissions.

Pardon my ignorance about Unix and PHP

This problem continues.

Is this something I need to do within the FUD software or something that my webhost needs to do?

Any detailed instructions would be appreciated.

Thank you.
