1) You probably mean:
<head>
<title >Cost calculated</title>
</head>

2) For forward compatibility, better put:
$p=$_POST['price'];
$n=$_POST['number'];

> $kosten = $p * $n;

3) You really *must* put:
echo $a . "<br>"
echo $p . "<br>"
