No. It is the context provided by the following text, that you did not
quote, in which it is correct, as I was explaining how the string content
would be parsed (up to a point) if used verbatim.

My code is correct because it executes. But that is just another red
herring of yours: My *code* was never at issue before in this discussion.

My *explanation* as to *why* the argument to is_numeric() here cannot be
considered numeric is correct because the tests – with the PHP CLI, for
crying out loud – clearly show that it is. What is wrong here is only your
interpretation of my explanation.

Unfortunately, you are in the habit to accept only your (wrong)
interpretations of texts as their true meaning, regardless of what their
original authors or a third party has to say about them. The record shows.
So much for “ego”.
