Yes, I know how is_numeric() works. But you don't understand what his
code was doing.

Saying 'not ok' indicates is_numeric is broken - not that the value is
not numeric. is_numeric() is not broken, so saying 'not ok' is the
incorrect message.

It is not saying the value is numeric.
